"Perfect location, overlooking the river, facilities were great, quite spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful, though communication for non-Spanish speakers was not easy, but workable. Very helpful in helping with tours, attractions and transport."

"Street noise on one side and rushing river on the other could be a little intrusive, but OK. The breakfast was presented as a set menu, which was way too big for us. Make sure you let them know what you want, before it gets cooked."

"Beautiful unique sustainable design, riverside location, delicious ala carte meals (recommend fajitas, sandwiches and trocha con marisceros), laundry service, kind staff, everything is clean as crystal, good matrasses, taxi service in front of the hotel. I never sleep without earplugs, here I could."

"Couldnt close one of the windows, promised to be fixed the day after, but never happened. No hairdryer in the room. All the breakfasts were vegetarian, we craved for some cheese & ham. Some items like cola zero, local beers, kombucha on the menu were out of stock for 3 days, however there is a shop opposite to the hotel, they could just run over to get them."

"The staff member who helped us was rude repeatedly. For example, when asked what the breakfast menu was, he replied “I already told you yesterday.” He was correct, he had told me the menu when we checked in, but I had forgotten."

"Zafiro was in downtown Mindo, but the view from the balcony was like a little oasis. The food was great, and the service was awesome. Dennys, the front desk worker, was especially awesome and helped us figure out a lot of traveling logistics while in Mindo (and as an added bonus, he spoke English)."

"Ceiling fans would have been nice. I don't think zafiro had water refill stations readily available, which also would have been nice. I also really appreciate when boxed lunch options are available for purchase so that I can pack food for whatever adventure we're planning for the day. Those are really the only suggestions I can think of. Everything was really great."

"Great food, location, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I loved the fact that you had to remove and leave soiled shoes on the stoop before accessing your room. Very clean!"

"The hotel was locked in the early morning and around 9:00 PM at night. You had to go to the bottom level and unlock/lock a gate, which was not an easy task at times. I felt as if I were accessing a dungeon. The shower door in Room 6 did not stay closed properly."

"The room was lovely, really clean and highly finished. The manager was so friendly and helpful. Good advice on what to do and happy to help however she could. It is centrally located but the town is not noisy to no issues there. Breakfast was really yummy. The day I missed it as was out bird watching they have me a free coffee later to compensate, despite it being me that he missed it not them! Loved it so much I stayed an extra night."
