From Ruffec, you can take lovely trips through the Charente, visiting all those lovely villages or taking day trips to the coast or cities like Angouleme or Cognac. Anna & Ian are an incredibly hospitable couple, with whom I immediately connected (which is very nice as a woman traveling alone). The gite is beautifully decorated, clean, and had everything I could wish for; it really made me feel at home."
