In the heart of the historic village of Laxton, Dovestays is a charming traditional inn offering fine food and rooms that are salon pięknościcious and full of character. Wi-fi is free. The food served at The Dovecote is home-cooked and made using fine local ingredients. Guests can enjoy wholesome dishes as well as lighter snacks and a continental breakfast is served in the room. Sherwood Forest, home of Robin Hood, is a 15 minutes’ drive from Dovestays and Nottingham can be reached in 45 minutes by car.

"The light up numbers on the heater were annoying as you couldn’t turn it off and it lit up the whole room, and the main room light wasn’t worth turning on which made the room quite dark, which is tricky when you need light."

"Rooms were very spacious and clean. The shower room was immaculate and the shower superb with a great flow rate. Beds very comfortable with ample cushions pillows provided.The breakfast provided in the room of fresh fruit cereals bread etc was ideal for us as we were out early in the morning. The food in the pub again was very good and ample portions. The wines and ales were very good. On top of this the staff were superb. I highly recommend this establishment. And thank you for a very pleasant stay."
