"Fantastyczna dawna rezydencja Sir W. Liptona (tego od herbat), przerobiona na luksusowy (i bardzo drogi) hotel. jest tylko 7 pokojów, dużych przestronnych i świetnie wyposażonych. Wszystko działa jak należy. Lokalizacja - lepszej nie można sobie wyobrazić - z cudownym widokiem na okoliczne góry, wzgórza i równinę. Posiadłość leży na wys. 1440 m n.p.m., wieczory są chłodne. Posiłki wliczone w cenę podawanie w salonie lub na dworze. Obsługa i cały serwis perfekcyjne. Otoczenie - piękny tropikalny ogród, basen z widokiem na wszystko, biblioteka, specjalna sala do różnych gier i palenia cygar (tak!) - ale trzeba mieć własne."

"Jedzenie bardzo wykwintne, ale tu można by coś poprawić. Są lepsze kuchnie na Sri Lance. Niestety cena pobytu jest naprawdę wysoka - i to w zasadzie jedyna wada tego hotelu."

"Our room (Duncan) was lovely, but very expensive even for the time of year (Christmas). It wasn't particularly big and unfortunately was located near the bar/dining area so quite noisy late at night and early morning. Also not much privacy if you wanted to open the curtains."

"It was such a treat staying at Thotalagala on an all inclusive basis for 2 nights during our 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. The bungalow is so calm, impeccably decorated and equipped with a great team. We had mixed weather (October) but still did a lot - sun rise viewpoint (Lipton Seat), a tea factory tour, walked through the tea plantations. And when at the bungalow we loved swimming in the pool, admiring the views, playing scrabble and sampling the amazing and daily changing food menu. Kanth took the greatest care of us and we also enjoyed our walks with Madhu. One of my favourite things was the hot water bottle that is placed in your bed while you're eating dinner - heaven."

"Wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Manjula was superb and looked after our every need, all the staff were friendly and delivered excellent service. The view from the hotel is exquisite, and there is a wonderful feeling of calm and peacefulness. The food and drink are of a very high standard with wonderful cocktails. The turn down service with the hot water bottles is a lovely touch. We were enchanted with the local birdlife and entertained by a small group of monkeys outside of our room. A wonderful stay at a very special hotel and we would highly recommend."

The food was very good. We would advise having the all inclusive package to get most out of your stay. This was our favorite hotel during our Sri Lanka trip."
