"A very welcoming team, who went to the extra mile to please their guests. They even brought a surprise birthday cake for my daughter who turned 18 years old on the first day of arrival. The view from the apartment was phenomenal, and the place was so serene. A big shout out to Gary, Mariana, "Poupoune" - The Kitchen Lady, and the all the remaining staff who made our stay such a great time to remember."

"We loved the welcoming staff, especially the hospitality of Poupoune. The food was yummy and the views awesome. The place is peaceful, spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. It's a short walk from the sea. Rooms are very comfy."

"Private, quiet and laid back. Owner and staff were really friendly and helpful. Organised a hire car and transfers for us. Evening meal was excellent."

"We stayed in a spacious family apartment. Two adjacent large rooms with 3 double beds, private bathroom and a nice terrace. Very convenient for a family. Breakfast was simple (French style), yet tasty. Dinner served at the hotel was very convenient as there there are no other restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Overall a very pleasant stay. Rodrigues is a beautiful island and we enjoyed our time there. Staff at Le refuge were very helpful and friendly."

"It may be helpful to note that this is more like an apartment stay, rather than a hotel. No room cleaning service. No soap/shampoo, no toilet paper (1 towel per person is provided). The guests need to take care of these essentials themselves. There is a small supermarket in the village, so not a big deal. The hotel car we rented could benefit from better maintenance."

"Warm and friendly welcome by managers. Feels like home at times, especially after staying a few days. Very clean, nice place, nice surroundings, all necessary facilities to live with conditions in this region of the island a bit far from Port Mathurin. This has its perks to enjoy tranquility. Friendly staff overall. Great breakfast and dinner. Easy to befriend other customers in dinner and lounge area. Great views from balconies and main lobby and nice walks around property on coast. Bus port and supermarket nearby. Nice rental car and motorbikes and airport transfer available."

"Buses may take one hour to come and go to Port Mathurin. Better not rely on them if time is critical. But still bus ride is nice to have."
